GCSE Exam Results

It has been another record-breaking year for the Gateway Academy as the cohort of 2024 received the best results in the Academy’s history for attainment. These results are significantly above the national average for English and Maths.

The Year 11 students showed great dedication to their studies and ambition throughout the academy year by setting a record number of passes across the suite of subjects. Our grammar band student achieved a staggering 301 grades 7 to 9, which was 21 higher than 2023 which shows the level of aspiration of these students.

The Gateway Academy continues to set the highest standards, with students demonstrating exceptional academic progress across a wide range of subjects. This year, the Academy's students have once again achieved some of the best results in its history, with subjects including Maths, English, Science, Languages, Humanities, Technology, and the Arts performing well above the national average.

Headteacher Grainne McLaughlin expressed her deep appreciation for the students' outstanding efforts, confident that they will go on to achieve great things.

Ms. McLaughlin also extended her heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff, parents, and carers who have supported the students, as well as to the entire Academy community. She emphasised that the local community should take pride in their young people, who are excelling not only academically but also in sports and the arts.
