Year 9 Parents' and Carers Options Evening
YEAR 9 PARENTS AND CARERS OPTIONS EVENING – THURSDAY 24 APRIL 2025 1600 – 1900
We are pleased to invite you to our Year 9 Parents and Carers Option Evening on Thursday 24 April 2025. This important event offers a valuable opportunity for you to meet your child's teachers, discuss their progress and achievements to date and receive guidance on how they can enhance their performance in the recent Term 2 Assessments and discuss option choices with a wealth of subjects. It also provides a chance to gain insights into their learning, ask questions and work together with us to support their ongoing growth and success. The Year 9 Parents’ and Options Evening will start at 16:00 and no appointments are necessary.
It is essential that at least one family member or trusted adult attends with your child so we can work together to ensure their success. Your child has been in receipt of significant information regards the options process and I am pleased to be able to share that information with you. Attached is an electronic copy of the Curriculum Booklet (https://www.theglc-gatewayacademy.org.uk/attachments/download.asp?file=1391&type=pdf) a hard copy of which will be available at Parents’ Evening. Your child has taken part in some options taster sessions as well as having had assemblies from all options subjects. As a result, they should be in a strong position to select their options from Friday 25 April 2025. You will be emailed a Google Form on which to make those options choices; the deadline for returning options choice is Friday 02 May 2025 – further details can be found in the Curriculum Booklet. At Parents’ Evening, members of staff from all options subjects will be available so that you and your child can find out more information regards the qualification and its suitability to their further education and career aspirations.
There will be a choice of one free academic resource or reading book:
