The Gateway Academy's performance of Matilda the Musical was absolutely stunning, leaving audiences in awe. Over the course of two nights, the talented students put on a captivating show for parents, carers, and the wider community. The production was a true testament to the dedication and hard work of the students, teachers, and all those involved. The cast brought the beloved characters to life with remarkable energy and enthusiasm, delivering powerful performances that showcased both their acting and musical talents. From the vibrant choreography to the emotive songs, every detail was thoughtfully executed, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance.
Adding to the brilliance of the production, primary school children from across The GLC Trust also played roles, contributing their energy and creativity to the performance. It was a fantastic collaboration, highlighting the strong sense of community within the trust. The atmosphere was filled with pride and joy as families came together to celebrate the incredible achievements of all the performers. This memorable evening not only showcased the artistic talents of The Gateway Academy’s students but also demonstrated the power of teamwork and the collective spirit of The GLC Trust.
A group of GA students recently visited TCHC, a Post-16 provision located in Basildon Town Centre, designed to support them with planning their next steps after school. This visit offered the students a valuable opportunity to explore the various courses available at TCHC, helping them make informed decisions about their future educational and career paths.
During their visit, the students participated in taster sessions for a range of subjects and vocational courses offered by TCHC. These sessions allowed them to gain a first-hand experience of the curriculum and teaching style, providing insight into what they could expect if they chose to study there. The courses cover a variety of fields, from vocational qualifications to more academic-focused programs, giving the students a well-rounded view of their options.
The aim of the visit was to give the students a clearer understanding of the opportunities available to them after completing their studies at school. It also offered them the chance to interact with staff and ask questions about the programs, support services, and future career pathways associated with each course.
